Embarking on a five-day adventure from Mexico City to the coastal paradise of Puerto Escondido promised sun, beach, and relaxation (naive parents, hah). Here’s how we made the most of our trip

Our road trip from the coastal paradise of Chachalacas to the bustling metropolis of Mexico City took us on an unforgettable journey through two of Mexico's cultural gems: Xalapa and Puebla.

Teotihuacan, the ancient city just outside Mexico City, is a place of mystery and wonder. From its towering pyramids to its intricate carvings and vibrant murals, it offers a glimpse into Mexico's rich archaeological heritage.

Our adventure in CDMX began with a whirlwind exploration of its iconic landmarks and cultural treasures. From the imposing Cathedral to the ancient Templo Mayor, every corner of this vibrant metropolis tells a story of its rich history and heritage.

Traveling in Yukatan and Quintana Roo was easy, as the peninsula is very much beloved by tourists from all around the world. We generally felt safe everywhere, the people were friendly and we didn't have difficulties finding food suitable for our European stomaches.

Our Mexico trip in January 2022 lasted three weeks, we started and ended our trip in Cancun. The itinerary looked like this: Cancun - Playa del Carmen - Akumal - Tulum - Pisté (Chichén Itzá) - Merida - Progreso - Valladolid - Holbox - Puerto Morelos.
